Just Cruisin’

June 3rd, 2010

Well I’ve jsut come back from an idyllic honeymoon on Denis Island in the Seychelles where shoes weren’t even required for the restaurant – in fact, I spent nearly two weeks without a pair of shoes on and while I loved it – it’s great to be back in my heels again – I am such a sucker for a gorgeous pair of heels (probably because I’m just a shade over five foot!).

The trouble is that summer is here (well as good as we’re going to get anyway) and I’m feeling a shoe cupboard refresh coming on. I am three weeks away from a Mediterrean cruise that WILL require shoes. There may be some days where my Gucci slip ons will do by the poolside but this is a BIG ship with shopping opportunities and events galore. We will be travelling with a group of about 20 friends which, as all you girls will know, comes with its own frought gauntlet of fashion competitions between the women. I don’t wish to feel too heavily involved, I’m quite happy to be on the fringes and I feel no need to win but I will be happy to feel like I can compete on a good level! The Captains night will be the ultimate in the who’s wearing what fest and therefore is the event I will be concentrating on, looking for  a full length cocktail dress and shoes to die for.

I’m feeling as though I’d like a splash of colour in the way of shoes this summer. My dress may yet be black but this will make the shoes all the more striking – that said, I may just get an assortment of dresses to mix and match the shoes with!
