Designer Ties

February 2nd, 2011

There is, they say, a tie for every occassion. Job interviews, weddings, parties, a day at the office, meeting the prospective in laws, funerals – whatever the occassion, choosing the right tie, and often opting for designer ties, is essential.

To illustrate my point: you have been invited to attend your neice’s wedding. It promises to be a happy, joyous occassion but at the same time there is a sobering and serious ceremony for the couple to go through. This probably isn’t the occassion to wear your favourite cartoon character tie, neither is a job interview or a funeral. However, were you attending a casual party you might well want to give this type of tie an airing.

Black ties are often kept for funerals, most men have a black tie they keep for such occassions. They also double up as interview ties. One thing you can’t get away with and that’s no tie at all when you would ordinarily be expected to wear one. In fact, you would be better off to be the only person with a tie than the only person without if you were in any doubt. It is unfortunate, but it is human nature for people to form opinions on first impressions and you only get to make one of those per occassion!
