Man may have dogs as a best friend but us girls have shoes!!!
Shoes don’t need feeding, walking or vaccinating. All they need is buying, wearing and loving!
Never underestimate the power of a good pair of shoes – they’ll jazz up a tired outfit, complete a perfect look, they’ll make you feel a million dollars (if you get the right ones) and they’ll make your legs look fantastic. And for any man that claims he wouldn’t notice – I bet he’d notice the form a decent pair of heels gives a girls legs.

Well I’ve jsut come back from an idyllic honeymoon on Denis Island in the Seychelles where shoes weren’t even required for the restaurant – in fact, I spent nearly two weeks without a pair of shoes on and while I loved it – it’s great to be back in my heels again – I am such a sucker for a gorgeous pair of heels (probably because I’m just a shade over five foot!).

There’s something very British about summer evenings spent soaking up the last of the suns rays outside the country pub, meeting up with friends, chatting and laughing until the wee hours. It’s a pasttime we enjoy no matter what age, it’s a way of getting outdoors and really making the most of the weather before the British dreariness sets in again.
With this in mind, I love these comfy looking suede moccassins available from Mulberry:

Christina Aguilera has been a style icon ever since she first came bouncing into the charts as a fresh faced teeny bopper. Her style has developed over the years to the grown up version we see today who can carry off mind blowing red carpet designs just as easily and fluidly as she can carry off this comfy casual look:

If you fancy emulating a little of Christina’s style, opt for these leopard print high heeled sling backs from Jimmy Choos – well worth their £425:

There’ll always be a place for metallics in fashion. The trick is to not overdo it – the last thing you want to look like is something from Star Trek.
Silver is my favourite metallic as it is so versatile. These very simple silver coloured sandals from Jimmy Choo are understated yet still sport the high fashion metallic finish. They look elegant with their 4.5 inch heel and so deserve a posh frock to show them off.

I like the idea of this gorgeous Karen Millen dress because it is just so pretty with its lace detail. I’m thinking garden parties, weddings, theatre trips………

I found these shoe/boots from Christian Louboutin, new on the market and aren’t they just divine?! The Python look is in keeping with this years animal print shoes but come in understated colour tones.

Christian Louboutin, £945
Now, I’m thinking late summer/early Autumn evenings. We don’t live in the best climate in the world and these evenings can be chilly but we still put on that brave, typically British stiff upper lip and try to eek out the last of our summer so make sure you dress for the occassion. Pair these gorgeous shoes up with this cable knit sweater dress from McQ and dress up or down with accessories dependent upon your mood. It won’t really matter – the shoes will scream style and class and oh-my-god fantasticness!

These are the beauties for todays bargain versus blow out scrutiny - from Alexander McQueen – great designer, great shoes, large price tag!

Black leather Alexander McQueen peep toe shoe boots, £575
Black shoe boots give a girl a sense of defiance, of going against the grain of pretty and feminine and lets the guys see just a glimpse of the ‘wild’ inner woman. It shows we have a tough side, a dangerous side, an exciting side! Add a few details such as chains, studs or zips and just watch the fellas start drooling. Of course, you don’t need to break the bank for this affect – take a look at our bargain finds and see how you can achieve this look whatever your budget:

When in doubt – go neutral!
You know those days when you simply can’t decide, when you’re stuck between wanting to blend with the crowd yet still needing to fulfill that desire for beautiful shoes (sounds like me on daily basis!) Well, these shoes do it for me and I’m sure they will for you too! The snake print adds a little detail to the strappy sandals but the perspex platform and heel give it a quirky feel with the added bonus of giving you a chunky, solid shoe that doesn’t actually feel too high whilst looking more elegant with the impression of a slimmer heel.

A girl can always find an occassion for a special dress. And every day is reason for special shoes! I love finding shoes that I’ll be happy to wear with a posh frock and that would sit just as comfortably under a pair of bootcut jeans. In keeping with the citrus shades of the summer I have picked out these gorgeous orange satin heels with the sweetheart peeptoe feature:

Alexander McQueen, £375
I think they go perfectly with this orange satin bandeau dress and can you imagine how good this outfit would look once you have that sunkissed look of mid-summer?

It’s winter and you’re attending a wedding. The temptation is to wrap up in lots of layers and black is always slimming.
However, this is supposed to be a celebration!! A time of not only serious vows, but of fun and laughter and partying so dress for the occassion. Try vibrant reds to warm you up and take the best action you can against geting cold without ruining the outift. Chilly? Just suck it up! Sometimes the occassion really does call for fashion over function so party like it’s 1999 and warm the cockles that way!
